*Post Service Officer. The PSO serves as the initial contact between The American Legion and the veteran. The PSO, in most instances, is not a professional service officer, nor is he an “accredited” representative of The American Legion (the exception would be when a professional service officer, county, state or Legion, also serves as the PSO for his or her post). He need not be an expert in veteran law or benefits. He must though, have a strong desire to serve veterans.
The PSO is usually the initial point of contact (POC) for veteran issues. He provide veterans in the community where the post is located with basic information and assistance, including referrals to the Department Service Officer (DSO). It is important for the PSO to establish a working relationship with the professional American Legion DSO. (From the American Legion Post Adjutant's Manual)

Due to the rise in coronavirus cases in Central Ohio, the February post meeting has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled post meeting (2nd Thursday each month) will be determined as soon as control of the virus has been determined.
Until then, all coronavirus implementations for the State of Ohio are in effect.
As a nation, we will get through this successfully.
